A Little Bit About Me …

Here is a little bit about myself – post pregnancy! This year has been CRAZY! From creating my blog and store, to customizing skincare regimens and helping women look and feel their best. New family additions and wild times with old friends – I could not ask for more. I have loved every second of it and can’t wait to continue this amazing journey with all you beauties!

I have especially found so much joy and fulfillment in joining Ruff Plastic Surgery. The technology and innovation there has been super educational for me and I love continuing to learn about all the latest and greatest in my field. The doctors & nurse injectors are all highly qualified and way beyond the buzz in our field.

The exposure to countless new treatments & regimens that I can share with all my clients & with you here on the blog has been amazing.  Ruff’s offers a full list of comprehensive services to make you look and feel your best and more importantly compliments the many treatments I already offer.  Looking forward to many more years to come : )  I can’t wait to keep my beauties looking and feeling beautiful : )

Sips, Tips & Style!

Last Friday, I held a Sips & Style party at the casa and had a ton of girls over for some fashion with Thirty Something Fashion, skin care with Kelley Knows, makeup with Tica Beauty, food and of course, lots of wine! There was an amazing spread of some of my favorite guilty pleasure food, including a giant platter of Astro Donuts. No matter your diet, remember to treat yourself every once in a while!

My good friend Carly came with her sister and brought lots of amazing clothing, jewelry and accessories for her 2015 Boutique Tour for ThirtySomethingFashion. I wouldn’t be able to dress myself if I didn’t have her in my life! From Ella Moss harem pants to Nicole Miller dresses, I found some must-have finds for Spring and Summer. Stella & Dot jewelry along with some other boutique pieces including Lucky Brand necklaces were strewn about with amazing fringe and cross body bags.

I also had Marti Wright from Tica Beauty & Cosmetics over to help the girls touch up their Spring makeup routine and share some beauty tips and tricks. Her makeup is to DIE for and her products are a must in my beauty routine. From her tinted moisturizers to her glow cream and highlighters, these are the tools you need in your makeup arsenal.

Then of course, speaking of beauty routine, I had all my to-die-for skin care products that protect my skin all winter long and prep it for Spring! Mybody and Medical Zo covered my dining room table. I let all the women know what products would work best for their specific skin needs, whether they needed more moisture or sun protection (which is always a must)!

I can’t wait to host another event like this again! It included all my favorites: fashion, beauty and skincare! I love helping other women feel great both inside and out and what’s better than some retail therapy with your besties?!

The Outfit I Love, With The One I Love

I hope everyone has enjoyed the long weekend and more importantly their Valentines Day.  As a mom with a new little one, it’s hard to find the time for date night so this was soo perfect! I had so much fun getting ready! That’s always the best part of the night, am I right?! I wanted to share my prepping for the big date night and let me just say: IT TAKES A VILLAGE!!! Here are a few tips that helped me get picture-perfect and I want to share them to help you get flawless on your next date night!

ONE | Complexion: Get glowing skin and everything else will fall into place.

I decided to treat myself to an IPL (photo rejuvenation).  This procedure will help diminish sun-damage, age spots, fine lines & wrinkles, redness and boost collagen.  A series is recommended but you will get results with each treatment. I treated myself on a Thursday and was ready for dinner Saturday night!

TWO |  Makeup: Do It Once, Do It Right

For makeup, I turned to Marti of Tica Cosmetics  who keeps me in the “know” when it comes to the latest colors. I also love her makeup line for its luxury, hypoallergenic, paraben & fragrance free products. Not to mention the line is gentle on your wallet 😉

THREE | Outfit: Wear It, Don’t Let It Wear You

Let’s start with my threads… This ensemble comes  from my stylist and dear friend Carly Walko of Thirty Something Fashion.  I have abused this pantsuit! I  simply change up my accessories and heels and its a whole new look.  It’s comfortable and chic at the same time! I cannot express how much LOVE I have for this amazing pantsuit!

FOUR | Accessories: More is more and less is a bore.

I love this statement necklace for its mixed metals and versatility. I can almost wear this badboy with any outfit – and I think I have :O  It definitely gets a lot of play time!  And for a fun pop of color I added my own red heels & clutch!

FIVE | Attitude: Peace, Love & Happiness

Okay beauties this is the easiest part … I tend to feel that if you simply smile you may experience some great benefits …

  • Your inner beauty  shines through!
  • Serotonin and other natural pain killers and endorphin are released which creates an up-lifting affect on your mood. Double bonus!
  • Attracting good people with other great attitudes : )

There’s an old saying that “it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile.”  I have made a conscious effort to practice this and have noticed I have an overall positive experience.

New Year, New You!

As cliché as it sounds, I love to start the new year with all sorts of resolutions. The biggest resolution being to actually try and finish the year having kept them 🙂 So I decided to make a mental checklist of resolutions as I prepared for our New Year’s Celebration this year.

So there I was..getting dressed in my room in anticipation of the night (which by the way has definitely become my favorite part of New Year’s!) Feeling sassy thanks to my dear friend, Carly Walko of Thirty Something Fashion with my, Karina Gramaldi dress and shoes sprawled out just waiting for me to slip into them, products lined up, hair and make-up in the works.

All set with my glass of wine within arm’s reach by the sink, and maybe (just maybe) I had my iphone turned all the way up blaring “Shake it Off” channeling my inner Taylor Swift (don’t judge!) I mean, that, in itself, feels almost like a perfect night, right? Does anyone really need that big drunken New Year’s kiss at midnight? Actually, I still kind of like that…makes every girl feel special going into the New Year. Although if another baby comes out of me nine months from tonight, that will not be cool. (special thanks to the bartender at last year’s New Year’s Eve party at Mastro’s Ocean Club in Scottsdale for contributing to our third daughter’s conception.. Cheers to you!) But alas, I’ve mellowed out enough that I now feel like a nice dinner and a decent picture to Photoshop and post on instagram is a considered a successful New Year’s Eve.

10882326_10153439058084838_7020819667254260806_n

Just as I slipped into my stilettos and zipped up my dress (another success 4 months post baby- YES!) I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and smiled. Feeling good! And then I laughed realizing that I was trying hard not to succumb to a huge yawn.. Like a lot of people may feel (especially moms and anyone feeling their age a little bit) I was beginning to wish New Year’s celebrations started at 10:30 instead of midnight 😉 I looked long and hard in the mirror and made my mental checklist of resolutions:

• Eat healthy –TBD if raw cookie dough is healthy or unhealthy
• Workout more regularly- not just when I’m having “fat moments.”

Fair enough, two standard resolutions–I’ll give it a shot!
So far, so good….but the rest of my list might be more like a practical joke I insist on playing on myself! But here it goes anyway…

• Wake up early every morning to workout before the kids wake up. HA! not a chance!!
• Spend more cautiously –yea, okay!
• And this one is my all time favorite– drink less. Who’s fooling who here? – NO ONE likes a skinny, cheap, sober chick!

So as I stood there, I realized that I am so incredibly thankful for the year I’ve had. It’s been an amazing new adventure. I love to learn more & challenge myself and that is exactly what I’ve done. And really, without the pressure of a list of resolutions. I’ve had a successful year by simply staying true to who I am and doing what I know is best for me, and for my family. So my REAL resolution this year? To continue to take everything in moderation, work hard; enjoy life with my awesome family and friends. Farewell to 2014 and a job well done! If you could see me right now, I’m patting myself on the back and looking forward to 2015…

I want to wish a Happy New Year to everyone who has supported this blog!!! I’ve enjoyed sharing some of the insights of my life, especially the ones on skin care and beauty tips. To kick off 2015, here is a list of important tips to begin Winterizing your skin. As winter rolls through, and everyone clings to that image of finally getting to the beach in the summer, what most people don’t realize is that a lot of that important preparation begins NOW.

This time of year you should consider these simple tips to Winterize your skin:

1. Shower once a day for 10 minutes or less. Use luke warm water – hot water will strips the natural oils.
2. Moisturize daily immediately after showering – your pores are open and use a serum. Serums Like Calm After The Storm will hydrate, soothe and provide loads of hyaluronic acid to give you hydrated youthful skin but in a serum form instead of a creme..

3. Protect your skin from the inside out – YOU are what you eat!

4. Treat yourself to a great scarf! Who doesn’t love a reason to purchase a new accessory?! I turn to ThirtySomethingFashion for all fashion ideas!

5. For your chapped lips Aquaphor  is a MUST!!

Please continue to follow along with me as I continue to learn & share skincare/beauty tips throughout the years to come.

Happy New Year!

Don’t Let Your Fun In The Sun This Past Summer Ruin Your Skin

For those of you who already have your routine in order and are ready to take it to the next level, there are 3 recommended treatments below that specifically address the summer sun-damage that many of us notice appearing in the early Fall. Each of these recommendations show best results with a series of treatments that will replenish and rejuvenate your skin throughout the Winter months and will have you looking radiant and rejuvenated come Spring. I can speak from personal experience when I say that the results will truly amaze you by the time spring rolls around! If you aren’t quite ready for injectables or a surgical procedure, these non-surgical, non-invasive treatments are for you. And they’re perfect for many Moms who don’t have an excess of spare time, let alone cosmetic procedure “down time”. But most importantly, they’re an excellent option for women of all ages who want to add proactive treatments to their skincare routine and rejuvenation plan!

• Clear & Brilliant – a non-surgical, non- invasive anti-aging laser treatment that leaves your skin looking refreshed even after 1 treatment. It’s great in a series of (3). It’s proven to help improve fine lines, wrinkles, tone, texture and pore size appearance.

• IPL Photo facial – I have been treating myself to IPL’s for years – oh how loyal they are to me 😉 A Photo facial treatment is a series of (3-6) gentle intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments developed to improve the appearance of sun damaged and aged skin, as well as to reduce redness and flushing, resulting in more youthful looking skin.

• Micro Needling – This treatment is one of the “newbies” in my skin treatment regimen and I am NEWLY obsessed!!! Micro Needling is minimally invasive and entails a rolling device over the skin that creates tiny channels (or piercing the skin) in the skin to stimulate new cell growth and collagen production. This procedure also allows products to penetrate more efficiently for overall skin rejuvenation. A series of (4) treatments a month apart is recommended for best results.

Be Back Soon…

I’ve been a little MIA these past couple of weeks–BUT with good reason… I’ve been hanging out with my new little peanut!! And juggling diapers, endless laundry, cleaning up puke, fighting sleep deprivation BUT most importantly snuggling with my newbie – which makes up for all of the rest! For those of you that didn’t know – I was pregnant and recently had a beautiful baby girl on September 5th – she’s #4. HOLLY COW!! I never imagined having 4 children… I will be slowly getting back into the swing of things and by that I mean Mama will be getting her “MOJO” back! I’ll post myself getting my peels, injections & what I’m using for my fall skincare regimen real soon!
Stay tuned… Until then check out my new little peanut below.
